Stanley

2006

Stanley, 2006, was first exhibited as part of Real, Fake and Imagined, an off-site project at The Regency Townhouse, Brighton in collaboration with Permanent Gallery, curated by Woodrow Kernohan.  The exhibition, featuring works by Laura Braun, Mandy Lee Jandrell and Melanie Stidolph was complimented by two pieces of writing: Clare Moloney from artist- group OMSK, wrote a textual translation of the artists’ images; and Stefanie Braun, Curator, The Photographers’ Gallery, responded to the work in its unique setting

“‘Real, Fake and Imagined’ introduces us to the work of three London-based photographers – Laura Braun, Mandy Lee Jandrell and Melanie Stidolph – who all deal in different ways with the natural habitat that surrounds us, the environments that we construct for ourselves, and the search for an ideal relation between us and nature. Instead of Regency mirrors on the walls we now have photographs which in turn reflect and echo as well as question the landscape that we see outside our windows.’
