In and Out of Love
2017
In and Out of Love is shaped by the idea of an opposition between the spaces of the studio and the coastline, and their effects on the individual. Notions of inside and outside suggestive of the inner mind and a wild landscape, shape the film.
The film is formed from a montage of footage filmed over five years, selected to emphasise the freedoms and constrictions afforded by different environments. The film features scenes from the studio, the darkroom and the far West Cornish coast arranged through a rhythm of repetition and circular actions.
First screened as part of ‘Imperfect Cinema’ at Plymouth University in 2017.
