Florence Peake in costume in Tate St Ives

Judder Shudder, Tate St Ives

In my role as Learning Curator, Adult Programmes I programme Late at Tate. 'Judder Shudder' took place on Friday 13 April 2018 and featured solo and collaborative performances by Jonathan Baldock and Florence Peake. Inspired by the theatricality of Barbara Hepworth’s wheeled plinths in her studio at the Palais de Danse, the performance blurred sculpture, costume and performer to create an act of absurd ritualism, at once humorous and tense, light and dark. The performances and exhibitions were complemented by a film programme featuring works by Rachael Jones, Anna Lucas & Alice Walton, Frances Scott and Florence Peake and footage from the recent collaborative performance of Rubato Dance with costumes by Jonathan Baldock. With enormous thanks from the Learning team to everyone involved for supporting the delivery of the programme for over 300 visitors on the night.
